    1 im not an it guy. 2 glock has internet connection again(yay)

    on xp pro how do i denie everybody access to my extra hdd's besides my account? the guest account doesnt seem to restrict sh**

    Right click on the hard drive icon in My Computer. Go to Security. When you see the account names listed, highlight each name one by one (only the usernames you created, not the ones like System and Administrator) and select Deny under the Full Control option on the lower half of the dialog box.

    If the user account is in the Users Group already, you can probably get away with giving them List Folder Contents permissions on the drive only. This will allow them to see the files in Windows Explorer, but they won't be able to open them or copy them. If you also give them Read permissions, they can open the files but can't edit them.
