  1. Using pinnacle captre card i loaded a vhs film into the pc
    i compiled it in pinnacle studio 9+ - on playback the audio is out of sync

    Anyone any ideas and any advice given to remedy the problrem would be greatly apppreciated

    You seem to have two choices at this point: Find out why or where the sync problem was created and redo it, or try to repair the sync problem with the file you already have.

    If the sync gradually drifts, then the length of either the audio or the video are likely not the same. You would have to adjust one or the other.

    If the sync is offset by the same amount through the whole video, then you could change the offset.

  3. Download the ACE MEGA CODEC PACK, and it will self install.
    This will correct the codec problem that you have, as I had the same problem, as the video will be ahead or behind the streaming sound, and video sync.

    Some advice on codec packs in general: They often install needed codecs and just as often install uneeded codecs, old codecs, bad codecs and conflicting codecs. They also often cause more problems than they cure. There are many posts on this site to back this up.

    I use a program like Gspot to find what codec is needed, then I install only that codec. Codecs are much harder to remove than install after the damage to your system is done.
