I never tried this brand. I did try nexxtech last week and they were good, not great but good for temporary backups of my movies, that are getting too old to wait and longer to backup. Since, memorex is cheaper I wanted to try them out but am not sure what to stay away from or go for. I wanted to price match at Staples, Circuit City, or Best Buy due to Office Depot having them in stock at 7.99 for 25 pk of dvd+r. I think last week i checked staples and they were from taiwan, and unsure about other two. Any input?

    Brand means nothing.

Current good media sold in stores in the USA:

Sony brand DVD+R (made in Japan) = YUDEN media
Sony brand DVD+R (made in Taiwan) = SONY media
Sony brand DVD-R (made in Japan) = TY or SONY media
Fuji brand DVD+R (made in Japan) = YUDEN media
Fuji brand DVD-R (made in Japan) = TY media
Verbatim brand DVD-R (made in Taiwan) = MCC media
Verbatim brand DVD+R (made in Taiwan) = MCC media
Maxell brand DVD-R (made in Japan) = MXL media
Maxell brand DVD+R (made in Japan) = MAXELL media
TDK brand DVD-R (made in Taiwain) = TDK media

Pick one. Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, Walmart, Fry's and OfficeMax are all fine places to pick up some of these discs. About $15-20 per 50 pack on sale. New sale each week it seems.
