Ok I have just recently finished resizing and converting a file that is the same exact video (divx3) and audio (lame) codecs that was in the previous file which worked well burned on the same exact cd on my dvd player however this new conerted file of the original refuses to work. It will show up on the dvd menu but soon as I select it the screen simply flashes and refuses to do anything

I did a side by side comparasion with GSpot and all that is different is the bitrate on the new file is lower then the other file. Both of these codecs in the same exact fashion were working yesterday on the player perfectly fine.

The cd is a cd-rw which while burning in nero 6 I have finalized ruling out the possibility that burning it might be the problem. Does anyone have any ideas

OK, so you have 2 video files. The original file is playable in your player. The smaller file that you created is not.

If you are using the latest version of gSpot, it will also show you if GMC or QPEL is being used in the file. This causes trouble in some players.

Other than that, what tool did you use? Sounds like something is wrong with your conversion process. Does the video play on your pc?

When you played the file on your pc, was it the copy on the HD or the copy on your burned disc?
