date stamp when copying sony dvd-404 data to computer

I hope this is the correct forum.
I have used DV date stamp for more than 2 years on my minidv tapes.
Now as I plan to upgrade to Sony's DVD-403 camcorder which records in mpeg, what happens to the issue of the date ?
Any way to place the date at the start of every scene for few second befoe making a big DVD ?
