  1. 1) After frameserving my AVIs to TMpgEnc (MPEG2) I found that it is writing M2V+WAV file pairs. Will this pair work ok with DVD Authoring software such as TMpgEnc DVD Author? Or does it want multiplexed MPEGs?

And a couple of more questions...

    2) What sound format (PCM/VBR/CBR) is safest to go with for a trouble-free authoring session?

    3) I heard MPG2 has a 1 GB limit... will I have any truoble with authoring software if I exceed that limit?

You can use elementary streams, PCM is fine but wastes space, you can use streams that exceed the 1GB limit because DVD authoring apps split the muxed VOB sets at 1GB anyway for compliancy with the DVD-Video spec. You do not need to do this yourself and it is not reccomended that you split them at 1GB yourself unless you just want to enter audio sync problems into the process.

TDA will accept your m2v and wav just fine, the only problem is that the wav takes up a lot of disk space which can limit the video bitrate. I prefer AC3 b/c it's much smaller and use ffmpeggui to make the ac3 audio.

No size limit for wav that I am aware of.
