Where did the dvd come from ?
Did you make it yourself ?
What type of audio does it have (mp2, ac3, dts, pcm ?)
Can your player play back this type of audio ?
Could you be a little more vague and lacking in detail in your follow-up post, just to add to the challenge ?

Are you sure? Maybe there is more than one audio stream and the 'default' is wrong (points to an empty stream).
=>Drag the whole extracted dvd into MPC, click on 'Navigate' - 'Audio Language' in the menu and have a look if more than 1 Stream (language) is there. If yes, test them all. You can do the same on your stand alone, or you can use pgcedit to change the default audio stream.

You should just be able to select the 2nd audio stream using the "audio" button on your DVD player's remote.
    If in doubt, Google it.
