Do you think is possible to burn a movie to dvd, but with password protected in order to see the video? so everytime you test it in your dvdroom (pc) or standalone dvd player, it ask you for a password?

In DVD Video format, short answer, NO.
You can use a compression utility like WinRAR to compress the files and set a password, so PC users need a password to play the video. However, it would be pointless for a standalone dvd player. -
Only give it to people that need to see it. The end.

It would be possible to get something working on a standalone but on a PC you can always play the title whether it is hidden or not.

There's a pretty good tutorial for doing this using dvd-lab either in the guides section and/or on mediachance's website. This only works well on a settop dvd player though. It would work through DVD playing software on your PC but you can always just double-click a VOB and get it to play so not totally foolproof.

Perhaps Sony has some ideas on how to disable PC playback you can "borrow"?

You can encrypt for use on a PC only (but not on a standalone).
First, author your DVD (_TS folders). Use TrueCrypt to build a password protected container large enough to hold your _TS folders. Mount the container and copy the _TS folders to the container. Dismount the container and burn the container to DVD media.
If you want to play the DVD on your PC, simple mount the container using TrueCrypt and play it with your favorite software player. -
the winRar password might be hard, but once the person has it unzipped it can be sent to anyone unprotected.
people when are we going to learn that some things just shouldn't be put to video?
