Looking to see what CCE Basic can do.

Downloaded trial version and did a few captures off VCR
    in ADVC 100...Went well.

Now want to encode the avi file into mpg, can't find anyway to do so.
Is this because I do not have Adobe Premiere loaded ??
    That little baby ain't cheap.

So is there a diferent way out, or do I have to buy Adobe ??

I did come from TMPGEncPlus, but I heard that CCE was much faster in encoding avi to mpg.

Frameserve the .avi using VirtualDub/VirtualDubMOD/VirtualDubMPEG2, or AviSynth into CCE..And if any audio conversion is needed, extract the audio streams with VDub, then try BeSweet w/ the BeLight frontend, or any of the other popular audio converters.

[hint - check the "Convert" guides to the left for further clarification ]

You do not need to frame serve in order to convert avi to mpeg with CCE Basic. Once you open CCE Basic just right click and add the avi video you want to convert. Once the video has been added just double click on the video file and it will open up the options window where you can set various encoding parameters. If you do not have a need to convert the audio to some other format then just leave the video/audio muxed.

The audio is nicely locked in sync with the ADVC-100 so leave it that way if possible.

The key to understanding how to run CCE Basic is to think simplistic. Right clicks and left clicks will get you pretty much anything you will need to do.
