noob ?: new "QT7-required" trailers to something e

I'm running 10.2.8 and am trying ffmpegx 0.0.9k. Can I use ffmpegx to convert the newer "QT-7 required" trailers to something either VLC or QT 6.5.x can play? If so, what settings do I use? So far, no luck with the "Cars" trailer.

As an aside, every time I restart ffmpegx, it asks me to locate mplayer - why does it not remember where mplayer is?

0.0.9k is quite old and perhaps the H264 decoder was not very present at the time. If it asks each time to locate mplayer it may be because you installed a version different than the recommended one for 0.0.9k.

Thanks. Misread the available codecs, but see now that the H264 is not available.

I got the mplayer file from the link recommended by ffmepgx
