I've got an "MP4" (AMV Conversion required) player. I can successfully convert files and play them with an AMV player on my computer ; also my player shows the file is properly placed and shows full play time of file on the display, but when I play the file, it plays only the first 10 seconds of a 3 and a 1/2 minute file, then stops. I've only used 5% of the memory. Music (MP3) files play full length. I could really use some help in getting past this playback issue. Thanks!

Could you be a bit more specific about the unit ... and welcome .
Here's one place that you might get some info from
http://www.mympxplayer.org/portal.php < go here to sus out your player , to find out if what you bought is actually what you paid for .
And how to convert

What conversion program are you using? Or rather, what settings are applied when converting the video? This problem has also occurred with me on a number of video files. I use Videora Ipod Converter to convert these tricky files and it works most of the time. You can even convert .mkv if the subtitles are imprinted on the video.
However, it's also important to know what MP4 player you have. Samsung MP4 players can only recognise and play the video format of their own company, .SVI (samsung video). So you HAVE to use their program. Bastards lol
