  1. I'm in the US.
I have some PAL DVDs, these are homemade UK sport(Sky) recordings.
My dvd player is a LG 418.
Some of the recordings look like avi/dvix files, the action has that "fish bowl" appearance, is this how PAL looks when played on a US dvd player ?

every PAL dvd i've ever played back on my dvd players (pioneer, samsung, etc) have looked very good.. the only time i could tell a difference was when i was watching some futurama PAL dvd's and noticed a slight increase in the speed of the voices (a bit squeekier) due to the fact that they were sped up for PAL by something like 4%.

  4. I have a LG 418 and commercial PAL DVD's look great. It's possible that something went wrong with the tape-to-DVD process. Do you have any professionaly made (as opposed to homemade) PAL DVD's for comparison?
