    i have problems opening AVI files. it had always been working before, but i don't know why it's not working anymore. maybe my codec is missing? is there any codec that can play AVI FILE? i try to convert it to JPG or at least WMV using TMPGENC, but it said.. can't open video file. i have no idea what's wrong.

    i just finished downloading a file that it 700MIB.. and it took me forever and now it doesn't work.. it's getting me really frustrated. please help someone!! (:

  2. Try loading the file into Gspot to see what the file actually is.

    i just download the file.. it said that i have the codec, but i still can't open the file... arghh.. it's driving me crazy!! please help me... ?!

    Nice screen grab but not very helpful. When something doesn't want to play I just go jump on one of my other 9 computers. Got another computer?

    Tried reinstalling the codec ?

    Can you open it with virtualdub ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

    i solved the problem now.. i downloaded real player and was able to watch it on there. those who are experiencing the same problem as me, you guys can use EO VIDEO to convert it from AVI to MPEG. took a while though.. cuz my file is quite big... umnn.. thanks anyway you guys

    It was probably a rmvb file with the wrong file extension and you just needed to download the Real Alternative . Converting a file just to play it is a bit of an extreme solution
