I've been burning dvds and cd's on a generic dvd burner for about 9 months. I'm really getting sick of making coasters! The only media that seems to work in my burner is Imation -R. I bought a pack of Verbatim Digital Movie dvd's, and according to the media guide they are really good however my dvd burner can't burn to them and I wasted 2 discs already.
I don't know what brand dvd burner it is anymore since I cannot find the box so I haven't been able to download any firmware updates for it.
So, anyway, I am stuck between a couple of burners:
Pioneer or Lite-on
I'm looking for good price and dependability, Pioneer I found at Best Buy for $60 and Lite-on 1633S I found on ebay for $50. Would ebay be a good place to buy equipment? But that's not my original question... my question is which one sounds better. I don't know the model number of the Pioneer though.
I'm also interested in a dual dvd/cd burner.
Other suggestions in dvd burners would be appreciated too!
