  1. Hi everyone,

I had installed a new Plextor 716A drive, but while using DVDDecrypter and / or ImgBurn, I kept getting this strange error message after the burn.

The end product appears to be OK; but sometimes Plextools can't even finish checking the disc for errors.

I am totally stumped; has anyone seen this sort of error message before? I don't think it's hardware-specific, because I'm only getting this error when using Decrypter and ImgBurn; but at this point I am just really not sure.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  2. By the way, if I were to close the software, and reopen them, the disc information is reported as OK. But I'm concerned that it's not really a good burn, or the apps wouldn't be giving me I/O error messages.

I am using genuine TYG02, set at 8X burning only.

Plextors can sometimes be like that.

I would check the seating of the IDE cable.

If it's ok, I would change to another IDE cable (80 pin).

    Update the firmware from www.plextor.com

Plextors are very sensitive to the firmware version. I have an older
    PX712A that wasn't reliable for a burn until 1.07

    Good Luck.
