No.
But a few of us here are pretty experienced with the ADS device, so maybe we can help with some issues.Go off and rule the universe from beyond the grave. Or check into a psycho ward, whichever comes first, eh? -
Thanks but I'm ok with using it's features. I was hoping for something with a few more bells and whistles. The only thing I still can't overcome is backing up a vhs tape with macrovision. I have pretty much given up. I have posted the problem here before and tried the suggestions, which make sense. I do believe that it works for others but I don't know what kind of glitch I'm hitting. I have tried searching for all of the software, deleting it, reinstalling it and then using the PixeDV version burried a few folders deep but when I play the video it is completely unstable and unusable.

It doesnt make sense that its working for most of us and not you. Has any one of us tried emailing you a copy of our app that works? PM me with email address and I'll send it over. I think its worth a try.

The only macrovision issue I have had is that the other buried version on the install CD is NTSC only, which doesn't help me in a PAL country. But "unstable and unusable" sounds more like the glitching you get with a damaged tape. The ADS device loses its "lock" or something and from the damaged portion onwards won't encode properly. It has been suggested using a video player with a time base corrector, but I haven't explored that path.

mhar4, cant your PAL DVD player handle any NTSC discs you make via the ADS capture device? I went to Europe in September and bought several NTSC DVDs there (at El Corte Ingles).

Oh yes, but the VCR is PAL, and the ADS unit will try and read its output as if it is NTSC. The regular version of PixeDV can select between PAL and NTSC, the macrovision-disabled version is NTSC only.
