Hi,
My Pioneer 727 player according to the compatibility list will play svcds but others in the same response say it won't. It plays vcds, xvcds, cdrs & cdrws fine.
My question is when I put a svcd in the player it recognizes it as a cd, the counter plays but no audio, no video. Is this the typical sympton of not being able to play svcds? Is there anything I can change? (I've tried burning onto a cdrw, same result). I'm using nero & tmpge.
Thanks, Jerry

I have run into the same problem a couple times using the same tools you use.
It's either a bad CD-R disc(this single one, not the brand) or a bad MPEG to start with. If TMPGEnc gave an error message after encoding, then watch out.
Pioneer is pretty good in reading different kind of medias.

I have the same problems like you, I'm using Nero&Tmpge
My DVD Player is an Phonotrend 2300. Is very strange because burned a VCD at my office and it work flawlessly on my DVD player but when I tried the same at house with the same soft(Nero 5.5.4.0) it didn't work.
Did you found some trick or the cause of this?
