  2. if you are using smart ripper (i belive i read you are in the previous post) you can use a program called vob2audio. it uses a file that is created when you rip the dvd. I was wondering this myself as i just got a dvd-rom drive today and am aready encoding my second vcd (anti-trust if anyone cares ;P)... i forget where i got it... try doom9.net, i think that's got everything... if it don't have it try apachez.net

    hope i can help

  3. lol, and to think the only reason i read this post is thinking it was about like actual dvd audio discs... will my drive be able to rip/play them when the software/technology is around or is it like all current dvd players and only for video. (to anyone who wants to answer)

Well, i have a DVD-ROM on my PC. It rips .vob's from DVD's with ease, and when I shut down my antivirus sooftware, and all other non-essentail programs, it plays DVD's as well as (or better) than my stand-alone DVD player.
