i have some shows that have the intro and outro encoded onto them. what i would like to do is encode them and then cut out the intro and outro. is there a program that will let me specify a time (as it is the same for each episode) to cut at for the beginning. i am not so concerned with cutting out the ending, but rather the intro.

    thanks

  2. First, it would be easier and save encoding time to cut before encoding.

You can save cut points in vdub and then load those settings after loading each file, then frameserve to the encoder.

Or just make a generic AVISynth script with the Trim points, then copy this for each file (changing the source filename to suit of course). You could then batch encode.
    If in doubt, Google it.

i thought about avisynth, but then i would have to cut the audio exact as well, and that is more work than i want to do. if there was a way to do it with avisynth (the audio portion) then i would. but as far as i remember, there is not functionality for mp2 audio, just wav.... which i guess is good enough. the problem is that i use cce to encode and i do not encode the audio with cce. got any good ideas for how to handle the audio?

AFAIK the Trim cuts the audio automatically for you at the same time.

I use this method all the time for top n tailing caps off TV.
    If in doubt, Google it.

If you have your audio file as say AC3 and a Mpeg2 file insert them into
Cuttermaran this editor works really well.
