I continually lose the conection using FTP, this is an issue no matter what FTP program I'm using, I've tried several. I've also tried turning passive mode on or off.

It happens for the most part with multipart downloads or uploads with many files, It does happen occasionally with single files before the transfer starts but only if I have already transferred a few other single files, I'll have to wait for it to reconnect which can take to to 30 seconds.

When it does connect in the beggining it will be absolutely as fast as it can go reaching my max upload speed for a little while then it just slowly dies....

Large files will go right up to the max and stay there for the most part, I could if I wanted too upload a 500mb file in the same time it would take me too upload 100mb multi files.....

I'm on a wireless router and have tried manually adjusting the MTU from some info I found googling but that had no affect... I've tried using passive and not passive....... Nothing seems to work. I've tried different servers from other hosting companies and still the same problem.

Here's what I get right before it dies, as I mentioned it will fly like a bao of hell then just die over a few seconds to minutes.

    TYPE I
    200 Switching to Binary mode.
    PASV
    Error reading response from server.
It appears that the connection is dead. Attempting reconnect...
I'm beggining think it's the router since I've seen others havin the same trouble. Any advice?

Have you tried resetting the router?? Maybe there's a glitch in it???

Or have you gotten the latest firmware for it???

Simple ideas I know but sometimes when we're fighting with something we lose track of the quick solutions - may or may not work though - good luck.
