Hi, I have three video files that I want to put onto one dvd with menu's etc... The original mpgs are in perfect audio sync. I converted them individually into dvd files (vob's etc..) using win avi. All three are still in perfect audio sync. Now for the bit that goes wrong. I add the three video file (ind dvd form) into dvd auther choose my menu etc etc.. then i save into onto my comp as audio_ts & video_ts. Once dvd auther has made these folders (takes around 30 mins on my comp) I always check before burning. But now the sync on all three videos are about 5-10 seconds out???? What has gone wrong???

    anybody got any ideas

    cheers

Don't convert the MPEGs to VOBs. Pull the MPEGS into TDA. There's no point in converting to VOBs first since TDA does this for you.

ok but what about if i dont have mpegs in the first place? And also even if i did convert the mpegs into vob's first that should'nt send the sync out?

Okay you said you had MPEGs in your first sentence. And yes if the MPEgs were in snyc before, the program you used to convert to VOBs could be the problem or a host of other issues. The basic rule of thumb is to handle the video file with as few programs as possible. TDA accepts MPEGs and will build your DVD for you. I have been capturing TV for 4 years. I have yet to have a MPEG be out of snyc before or after generating a DVD using TDA.

I have seen TDA cause an out of sync condition if the source audio was not correct and TDA converted it. I have since made sure both my video and audio meet DVD specs before authoring in TDA and I have never had a problem since.

so how can i actually stop TDA making the files out of sync? I would just use the mpegs in there but I have deleted the original ones because once i had converted to vob i had no reason to keep them. So now i have have 3 sets of video_ts and audio_ts folders all in perfect sync it just when i use TDA to make the final dvd that there al go out of sync. Is there another authering software that i can use instead of TDA. Something that is really simpleto use as is TDA. As i only make basic dvd' with standard menu's and custom backgrounds.

    cheers
