    Hello,
I am new at this game and would greatly appreciate some help with a burning (no pun intended) problem. I have captured several analog VHS tapes by using MyDVD (came with my burner). The tapes that are less than one hour are fine. I can burn them with no problem but the longer tapes will not burn because they are larger than the DVD will accommodate. When I captured the analog files I used 5 minute chapter points and my thinking was that I would be able to select one hours worth of chapter points and burn them to a DVD. Then select another hours worth of chapter points and burn them to a second DVD. Have not been able to do this. I feel sure there must be a way to burn selected chapter points but I have not been able to find it yet.

I would really appreciate any advice as to how to work around this problem. I only have eight or ten tapes that I need to convert so I really don't want to invest in any additional software that will be useless after I complete my conversions.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me with my problem.

Does MyDVD have a place to adjust the bitrate (most do)?

Plunk in the time of your VHS tapes and use this tool to determine the bitrate needed.
