  1. I'm using Divx to DVD to convert two ~700MB Xvid/AVI files to dvd. I have done this a couple times with single files and they copy and play fine. But for some reason there is a problem with the dvd when i convert and burn it with two files.

Basically I can play the dvd/ and files on my computer, but instead of the player showing the whole movie lenght it shows half of it as one title and the other half as another title, im assuming this is why it won't play on my home dvd players.

Is there something im doing wrong?

  2. That's what DivxtoDVD does it makes each AVi a title. At least as I remember it. It's been a while since I used that Program and maybe the new version does it differently.

It would be strange to me if your home DVD player could not handle two titles as I put several titles on a DVD all the time.

Have you tried taking the output files and re-authoring them... Tutorials and links to tools on left.

You aren't doing anything wrong, TBoneit is right. DivxtoDVD creates a new title for each avi file, so adding two halves of a movie does not give you a whole movie, it gives you a movie in two parts. Your player should play part two immediately following part one (with a slight pause while it finds it), but sometimes this works, and sometimes it doesn't.

There are a couple of ways to fix this. You can join the avi files beforehand so you are encoding a single file instead. This generally leads to sync problems in the second half, so it isn't recommended.

You can use TDA's add video function to add the titles from DivxtoDVD to a single new title and create a new disk with a single title. This would be the way I would go in this instance.
