  1. hi i have a dvd movie with only ifo and vob files and i can burn it into a dvd to but it's not playing on a dvd player because it' s missing the .bup file. is there anyway i can solve this problem. thanks.

  2. The .bup file is just a backup of the .ifo file. Copying the .ifo file and renaming it to .bup should solve your problem.

  3. This is what i got from nero before....oh and i used ifoedit which create another set of video_ts and vts_01_0

Required file 'VTS_02_0.BUP' is not present

Required file 'VTS_03_0.BUP' is not present

This is what i got from nero .. following your direction.

One or more files could not be added to a compilation.

The following files may not reside in the VIDEO_TS directory of a DVD-Video compilation. Only compliant DVD-Video files
    VIDEO_TS.IFO,
    VIDEO_TS.VOB,
    VIDEO_TS.BUP,
    VTS_nn_0.IFO,
    VTS_nn_0.VOB,
    VTS_nn_0.BUP and
    VTS_nn_m.VOB
can be added to the VIDEO_TS folder. Please add files from a completed DVD-Video title or use an authoring software like NeroVision Express to create DVD-Video files from standard video files such as *.avi and *.mpg.

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Movies\fantasyhotel dvd6\VTS_01_0.BUP.BUP

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Movies\fantasyhotel dvd6\VIDEO_TS.BUP.BUP

is there any other program i can use to create the file that nero need? thanks.

  4. Just use Windows Explorer and copy each .ifo file, then just change the extension of the copied .ifo files to .bup (and take the "copy of" portion of the names after copying them).

Did you go into 'Folder Options>View and uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types'? If not you would have renamed the file.ifo to file.bup.ifo and it would still have the same extension.

  8. Open up "My Computer".

Click on "Tools", then "Folder Options".

    Click the "View" tab

Find the entry that says "Hide Extensions for Known File Types"

    Uncheck box

    Click "OK"

Post a screen shot (follow these instructions - https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=271697) of the windoes explorer window showing the contents of video_TS.

Hold it ... heres the error you posted from nero

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Movies\fantasyhotel dvd6\VTS_01_0.BUP.BUP

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Movies\fantasyhotel dvd6\VIDEO_TS.BUP.BUP

Spot the mistake .... your bup files have a double extension i.e .BUP.BUP ... they should only have 1 .BUP as their extension ... rename them with just 1 .BUP ... i.e VIDEO_TS.BUP (not VIDEO_TS.BUP.BUP)
