  1. I was interested to know if it was best to extract the audio from the video first and then encode it?

    Depends a lot on your source. For almost all downloaded stuff I'll extract to WAV. I've had too many problems with VBR MP3 and even joining AC3 can be a pain sometimes.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. Cheers mate, decided to use filmachine then i have seperate audio and video. Seems to of worked ok but i havent burnt it yet
