New LG dvd recorders? Where in the USA?

Can anyone tell me where these are being sold?
I can't find them on any websites or at any stores in my area.

In fact, after a round of *all* electronic stores here, I am finding that nobody carries much in the way of hard drive models.

I found one Panasonic and one Toshiba, but that's it.
Not a big choice...

It looks like I'll have to purchase over the net.

I like the features listed for the LGs (double layer recording, usb port etc), but they don't seem to be available anywhere (yet?).

In fact, the only hard drive model they carried was a Toshiba, and they don't have the hard drive LGs on their website, either.

Yesterday, 10-23-05 I was in Best Buy Riverside/Moreno Valley, Ca looking for the model lvw-5045 that Costco had online for $300 (+ or - media and 160g hdd) , they did not have that model but another (did not write done the model #) that had same specs and was $369

I'm looking for the new (came out in the beginning of October) *LG* model/s.

You seem to be referring to the Liteon 5045, which is the model I just had to return to Costco, because it stopped recognizing burned/blank media.

LG is a different brand.

I found that one, but am looking for the hard drive models (though by now I've pretty much realized I won't be able to afford it at around $600, if it becomes available here).

I have about 3 Best Buy stores around me. None of them have it. But the "big" store a bit farther away has a huge selection of stuff. Not all BB stores are the same, some are "small" ones, others have a very extended stock, a full range.

BB.com is NOT the same as going into a store. They operate independently, although they are known to pricematch each other.
