  1. Hi, my apologies if this has been asked before, but i have had a quick search and cant seem to find anything.

I was looking for a DVD author tool, which supports avi files too. I was told there are tools that you can "drag + drop" avi files which are then authored to dvd files??

I currently use dvd lab pro, but is there such a tool that can do this and if not what is the closest that is available??

    Thanks again for any help

Many author tools or so called all-in-one author tools supports avi, like
ulead dvd workshop / ulead dvd moviefactory
    nero vision
    neodvd
    dvdit
    windvd creator

No matter how you go about it, an AVI has to be reencoded if it's gonna be a Video DVD in the end. Standalone encoders generally produce better resuls (in terms of video quality) than allinones.
