I know the procedure with virtual-dub, but some ppl recomended me about
Nandub, 'cuz it can handle Ac3 sound and VBR sound without having to
seperate the video from the audio first.
So, i opened my AVI file, added filters (TextSub + SmartResize), and now
i want to save it using XviD compression, but in video menu i don't have
"Compression" option like in VirtualDub, and another thing is, what should
i choose in the Audio menu if my AVI sound is MP3?
And what should i choose if it is Ac3??
It's my first time with NanDub, so normally i got alot of questions![]()
Be patient :P
Thanks and have a good day![]()

NanDub can only encode with DivX3 and MS MPEG4 V2.
Use VirtualDubMod instead. -

NanDub 100% definatly can't encode XviD. It can remux XviD, but it can't encode it.
Why would you need to seperate the audio with VDub? You mean because it is VBR mp3?
Just leave the audio alone, if you are adding subs then it is the video you are interested in.
Otherwise demux the audio, frameserve the video via AVISynth and encode the subs using fast recompress and mux the video and audio with AVIMuxGUI. Using AVISynth to render the subs lets you use fast recompress and therefor keep the entire process in YV12 colourspace. Full processing mode requires a RGB24 conversion. -

with AC3 its more complicated, i need to demux the audio using VDMod,
then unite it with the no-sound AVI by adding it in the stream list in VDMod.
that's why i want something less complicated.
right now i've got an avi video with VBR mp3 sound, and i don't want to
seperate it from the video (lazy me..) and don't lose the sync with the
video.
what should i do?
how can i do this with VDMod?
(OH and BTW, the phrase starting from "Otherwise" was chinese to me :P)
