Why would Sonic's CinePlayer installed on my Averatec laptop in Win Media Player request I change my Region 1 DVD-ROM to either Region 2, 4, or 6 before I can play a region 1 DVD?
Any thoughts?
If I try to play a DVD, Win Media Player launches, but quickly reports an error saying I must change to region 2, 4, or 6 before this DVD can be played.
It doesnt' matter what DVD I use. Purchased, self-burned, etc. They all result in the same error.
Odd, right?

Sounds like a software problem. If you change it does it work?

As you know, I only get 4 changes, so I wanted to wait for their tech support to answer. No answer yet.

Tech support got back to me. I had to reinstall my video card driver. That, for some reason, did the trick.
