I have some files encoded in xvid that dont want to work with premiere. I am trying to convert the video to mpeg2 (which i have done successfully) and the audio to either mpa or something that will work in Encore DVD, however regardless of what i output the audio as, it is just a silent file.
I'm using premiere pro.

What is the audio of the source files ? I am willing to bet it is VBR MP3. If so, load the video into virtualdub, say yes when it asks to rewrite the header, then set the audio to Full Processing Mode, compression to Uncompressed PCM and save it as a WAV file. Use htis as the audio track in premiere and see what happens.
