  1. I am sure that this has been asked before but can anyone please let me know if a DVD made using Nero in UK will play OK in USA.
    Thanks a lot.

NTSC - definately, PAL - maybe.

  3. The original DVCAM was PAL and this was encoded and burned to DVD using Nero.

Most likely not. Most dvd players in the US only support NTSC so you may need to convert it first. There are some guides that show how to do that, look at the How To section on the left. However, the DVD will play fine on a PC

  5. Dave, here's my experience with this:
-a lot of dvd players (including the dirt cheap ones) have the option of selecting the output format, beeing able to be used in US or Europe as well.
So ask the guy you're sendind the dvd to, if he can find in the dvd setup menu this option. If this ooption is selected on NTSC, he can play a PAL dvd just fine.
I am sending NTSC dvd's to overseas and they set the dvd to output PAL regardless the system the dvd is written. It plays like here, perfect. I was exactly in your shoes, converting every dvd before sending it, 'till I descovered this. Don't even bother checking the forums for PAL2NTSC convertion (yet) ....just check the info I give you...it might be exactly what you need to hear/know.
    Good luck !
