  1. When I try to compile DVD I get the message
"You use special command object in VMG domain but no real VMG menu. Please add at least one VMG menu (could be just blank) to satisfy DVD specs".
I created 2 play lists, each with a button on my 'normal' menu and suppose this is why I get the message, but when I just create a blank VMG menu the playlists don't work... Any idea's where I'm going wrong here ? Thanks.

It depends on how you set it up. Look in your project window. Are all your clips under one VTS? Are there more than 1 VTS icons there?

Which kind of playlists did you use? Play all, chapter, random, counter, what?

Check your connections window. Besides the VTS root menu, the two playlists and your clips, are there any other objects in the project? What are your first play connections set to?

  3. When I created the play lists I just selected 'Add Playlist'. Since I got this message I deleted them and the started again using 'Add VTS Playlist'. I don't get the error message anymore so maybe that fixed it (although I don't understand how or why...)

Hmm. I never noticed that before. The Play All and Playlist selections are both in the VMG domain. You can see that by looking at the project window as these appear at the top. But the Counter, Random, and Case lists are all in the VTS domain and appear at the bottom.

Funny, I've used tons of normal playlists before and never had that problem. Live and learn, I guess.
