    For a newbier person than me.

    Something very mindless that handles a avi easily.

    Freeware is best

    it's just not that easy.. when you're converting an avi (i'm assuming xvid or divx), sometimes they're wide screen.. but svcd is not, it's 4:3 (lb for some films).. so that's where you'll run in to problems..

    you cant do it mindless..

    Ulead DVD Movie Factory 4 is pretty easy for AVI -> SVCD.
