    ok ill use the encoder to make avi , or whichever type file into a dvd mpg, now instead should i make it svcd mpg then take that to the dvd author cause for some reason everytime i try to load the dvd mpg file into the author it freezes?

    SVCD is not DVD compliant and TDA will reject the file. Are you converting AVI's to DVD with TMPGEnc then trying to import into TDA? If so more info on your AVI is needed.

    yea pretty much jus converting then using tda to burn, what type of info would you need about avi and with mainconcept should i make avi an mpeg 1 or 2 or dvd?

    yea after i convert file tda freezes when i try to open project...

    "Open project" is for opening existing TDA project files, not adding MPEG files.

    Try using the Add File button to load your MPEG.
