Has anyone ever seen any benefit to enabling this option in TMPGEnc Plus 2.5? The help says "At multipass VBR(including 2 pass VBR), saves analyzing result of 1st pass to cache, then the encoding process would be boosted by using the result at 2nd (or later) pass(es)."
But for all my experience of using TMPGEnc and playing around with the settings etc. I have never witnessed any difference or benefit at all to enabling this option. I'm guessing here, but I think it is supposed to be able to re-use the analysing information from the first pass in subsequent encoding jobs. The thing is though that I've never seen TMPGEnc do this. For me it always redoes the first analysing pass for VBR everytime. Even with all the settings for the encode absolutely identical.
If anyone out there can say they know how this setting works or what it actually does, please do me a favour and let me in on the secret.
Thanks.
