I downloaded the new cataylst prog for my ati card but now I'm having problems. I picked force tv detection, then it detected my tv. I can see my desktop on the tv but not any video inside of any windows or anything. If I pick swap display mapping then I can see the video on my tv but not on the pc. With the old cataylst software I used to know how to set it up to output to the tv and pc at the same time. Does anyone know how to do this with the new ati software? thanks

i had trouble with the ati updates. tech support had me uninstall everything. and reinstall it.

i uninstalled it then used the ati uninstall tool. then i cleaned out ati from the registry.

once installed it works fine. the video and dvd player function better. the only problem i've found is the pvr scheduler. it only records single events. it won't record daily and such......

I got it to work. I had both version of the cataylst control panel installed, so i made the change in the older one. I still applied the color sharpness settings with the new control panel though. So you can sorta have two versions installed at once. Does anyone with an ATI card know if the s-video to component adapter is any good? And if the quality is better than the normal s-video to composite adapter? Thanks

adapters in general are the same unless made very cheap. ati uses top grade stuff.

signal quality is only giong to be as good as the lowest grade connection. in this case it is composite. the s-video/composite will give composite quality. the s-video/component will give s-video quality.

s-video is the best most ati cards can handle.

any connection also risks signal loss. the fewer the better.
