Problem with MPEG Pal to NTSC

First time I've had a problem with the software......it's been great.

I have 3 MPEG PAL movies and I'm trying to put them on DVD. I have the convert PAL to NTSC selected. For some reason, when I burn the 3 movies, it takes less than an hour and the DVD is completely done....normally it takes a lot longer for AVI files to be converted. Anyway, the video comes out very pixelled and hard to see.

What am I doing wrong? What can I try? Thanks so much.

I should probably add that the file size (for one) on the ocmputer is about 600MB and after the conversion it goes down to about 150MB. Thanks

I suspect there is a estimate of duration problem. Can you email me your log or post it here?

As far as conversion time, you can't compare VCD to AVI as AVI must be re-encoded to MPG, but VCD is already an MPG file.

First thing i would do is update to the latest version.
