I think I'm asking this wrong in my searches but I know I've seen the info somewhere, problem is I just can't find it now.
Anyone know this off hand? 13mb per min comes to mind but I have my doubts.
thanks

there are as many megabytes as there are. simplistic answer.
how many megabytes a minute depends on bitrate. the higher the bitrate the larger the file will be and the better the quality will be. -
Baldrick and TBoneit are correct - avi has no set format for minutes of video. It all depends on which bitrate and codec you use.Originally Posted by slnorth
You MAY be thinking of VCD (mpeg 1). That uses roughly 10mb per minute of video. That could be what your remembering. But as for avi - there is no hard set rule.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Thanks Junkmalle, it seems you were reading my mind. I should of gave the background info about xfering DV to computer info. 13GB sure is a lot of space. I wish there were a DV camera that just had a 40gb hd in it instead of tape.
Thanx all and sorry for not including the other info
