I've been using Virtualdub to save a WAV file from the AC3 audio stream of an AVI file. I'm wondering if there is a better way, are there any other programs which create a higher quality WAV file? Or perhaps there are better ways of using Virtualdub (I'm using AC3 ACM Decompressor)?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

That's the way I've always done it with 100% success so far.

I've even created a couple of guides for doing it which should would on most of the virtualdub variants:

Are you experiencing problems doing it this way ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

No problem really, it's just that the sound field on my test project (creating an audio CD & VCD from an AVI) wasn't as rich as I had expected. I was just wondering if there was a better way, but the problem could very well be the capture process that produced the AVI in the first place (I downloaded the AVI). I did notice your new tutorial with Virtualdubmod, but it looks like the same process as using Virtualdub, just a different interface.
