I made a video and using TMPGENC DVD Arthor 1.6. After i converted out the Audio_TS and Video_TS. I burn with Record Now Max to DVD using 2x speed.

I tested it on several dvd player, only 2 of the DVD player work out of 5 that i tested out. Is there anyway i can garantee that the DVD can be played on all DVD player? is it the arthoring program's problem or the burning program?

BTW the DVD players that doesn't work will indicate "no disc"

I had intermediate issues using Tmpgenc DVD Author using chapters burned on certain DVD media. I'd try different media (as proposed by Baldrick) or if you baught a spindle,I'd try ifoedit for authoring and imgtools for burning.

    Right on the nose Balrick!

I used TDA for several of the instructional videos I sell so that is a given at least for those. Since I do sell these to the general public, I have 0 control over the players they will be played on. Initially I did have a few problems with RiData 4x printables so I switched media and I am now using believe it or not, some so called Fake TYs 8x printable . These I use on a duplicator with Pioneer 108 DL 16x drives and print on a Primera Bravo II . I have gotten no further reports of non playing disks. They all seem to play on my machines as well.

TDA will produce a fully compatible DVD structure by itself. The variables then are, Burning programs, Burning Hardware and probably the most important variable, the Media. Once you find one that works, Stick to it. That is assuming the source remains consistant.

If TDA produces a fully compliant DVD structure, why did I have problems with chapters? Same source, same media and same burning program? No chapters, worked on any player fine.

I wish I could shed some light on yoour particular problem with chapter points. All I can tell you is that it has worked for me 100% of the time in 7 large DVD projects and none of my viewing customers ( Hundreds ) have reported any problems. As you well knoow there are situations that do creep up with certain programs and certain PCs. Just like with Pinnacle and Nero products. They work 100% with some people's machines and totally crap out in others. One can only assume thata the programs in the case of success and failures are the same installers so we have to then assume that there might be some specifics causing problems with certain machines.
Have you tried another version of TDA to see if that solves it?

To be honest,no! It seemed to be a waste of time anyway, as I really don't need and use chapters.
After discovering ifoedit, I never changed the authoring process. ifoedit produces reliable DVDs, more then 200 made with that program and none failed.

Maybe i'm wrong but i didn't notice anyone else mentioning this,
Not all standalone players will play dvdr media, and there are alot that will only play -R media. and you didn't state if the 3 players that did not work have ever worked before with burned media or what format 8)

and i have authored many, many master dvd's with TDA and have given out 1000's upon 1000's with no problems what so ever, although i do change the booktype on all my +R media to DVD-ROM.

for those that doesn't have problem on their burned media to public, do you mind tell me what DVD media you use, what program to burn and what program to arthor please? I do need to burn some big project to my client and sometimes it's really fustrated if the DVD media doesnt' work on them.

    What i've been using is:
    DVD burner-
    Magic I/O 8x Dual Format

    DVD media-
Ridata 4x (altho i donno why i got problem that my DVD burner ONLY able to burn at 2x, im sure it works on 4x before when i just bought it, maybe it's other program's conflict perhaps?)

    Program arthor-
    TMPGenc DVD Arthor 1.6

    Program Burn-
    Oroglix Record Now Max

the part where i only able to burn disc in 2x - I recently updated the firmware of my DVD burner, the problem still insist, now when i record with DVD Decrypter, it shows that the device buffer is going up and down from 20% to 99% continuesly.

i am listing the program that have been installed that uses the DVD rom, i used infotool to get this list up and i donno if there is anything do with the software i installed, if anyone can help me out it would be very appreciated.

How is the DMA of the burner set? Have you checked this setting first?

That's it: you have to turn DMA on (currently off). This should solve the speed issue.
