Burner wont burn data disks

I've got a funny problem here. My burner burns video and audio disks no problem, but when i burn a data disk (dvd-rom or cd-rom), everything seems normal, it finishes burning, but the disk doesnt work. It seems like it's a blank still. This problem only occours when I am creating a data disk from scratch (HD backup) and not burning one from image. I use the nero wizard to do this. Is this a burner plug in problem? Software problem? I havn't tried any other software to do this with but have been burning this way for years on other burners with no problem. The problem only started occouring with this particular burner. My burner is (i think) a pioneer I04. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Try running Nero Clean: http://www.nero.com/en/Clean_Tools.html and then reinstalling Nero. It gets rid of of most problems with Nero.

Sometimes if you make a multi session disc or leave it open you can have this problem. I don't know if that's what is happening here but i have seen it a lot.
