i need to know why it allways takes 10 hours to convert a 350mb mpeg to xvid movie?

depends on the length of the video really, not the actual file size..
you could have a 100mb mpeg movie (with a really low bitrate), but if it is 80 minutes long, it's going to take the same amount of time if the size of the file was 800mb.
on a side note, i wish vidomi worked with new video codecs.. it was a good program that you could use distributed networking with.. you could have all 3 pc's on your network encoding a movie, significantly reducing encode times :P
