anyone use this with there dvd recorders ?
    feedback on it ?
is there a better way ?

I got a pioneer dvr rt500-s to mostly backup my VHS tapes to dvd (and move my vhs-c tapes to dvd so I could edit them on the computer.)
But I get that copy protection error message on alot of the VHS tapes.

    thanks

I'm using a DVD Red PRO for about a 2 years. My friends also have it after my references. I personally have Panasonic DMR E80 and ES30 but one of my friends have Pioneer DVR, I do not remember exact type.
DVD Red PRO works very good. No quality degradation no side effects and of course no annoying "protection message". It is very simple to connect what is very important for me as I'm not good in making complex things work.
BTW they have new FAQ for combos:

I purchased the DVD red pro about 3 weeks ago, and have backed up about 20 of my 2 year old's video collection with no problems. I'm using a JVC DR-M10 DVD recorder. I paid online and received the Red pro about 2 weeks later in Australia. Its very simple to operate.
