  1. I know the NTSC DVD resolution for video and menus is 720x480 so that's what I made my menus to be in Photoshop. However once i put them in DVD-lab I have noticed the menu area you work with has an even higher hight. Will this affect the way these menu's are displayed? Settings show ntsc w/ 720x480 resolution so it's correct however I still find it odd DVD-lab gives such a large area for the menus to work with. Is this normal?

Make the menus in 4:3 format, like 1024x768, in photoshop. When you view them in dvd-lab they will look a bit stretched(cause 720x480 is not 4:3) but they will be stretched back to 4:3 when you play the dvd.

DVD Lab's menus are 720 x 540, which, when adjusted for non-square pixels, happens to match both PAL and NTSC. In photoshop work with the NTSC template (assuming CS), then resize to 720 x 540 (square pixels) for use in DVD Lab.
