Hi,
I installed the newest version and followed all the directions including updating the binaries. However, now whenever I try to encode a vcd from an avi using mencoder, it will go to 100%, but then after awhile, it will say fail. However, there is still the encoded file and it seems to work. Is anyone else having this problem. Here's what the progress info says.

Possibly the real error was above this point. Could you email me to major4@mac.com the entire output. By the way, no change was made to the VCD processes in 0.0.9t.

Here you go. I uninstalled and reinstalled everything and still get the same error.

I also am having problems Major.
Downloaded version t on Sunday,
installed the two new libraries, even went so far
as to repair permissions afterwards....Now I cannot do encoding of MPG-1 to MOV or AVI.
Here is a sampling of what I'm getting:
Input:
MPEG-1
video: mpeg-1, 352x240, 1150 kbps, 25 fps
audio: mp2, 44100Hz, 224 kbps
Output:
MOV
video: ffmpeg mpeg4, 352x240, 568 kbps, 29.97 fps, no crop
Audio: aac, 48000 Hz, 128 kbps
Processes says:
/bin/sh: -c: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token `('
/bin/sh: -c: line 1: `printf "Encoding started on " && date && /Applications/Utilities/ffmpeg/ffmpegX.app//Contents/Resources/ffmpeg -i /Volumes/Incoming_DV/HOLDS/Adult/ayana.mpg -y -threads 2 -vtag DIVX -map 0.0:0.0 -f mov -vcodec mpeg4 -aspect 4:3 -b 568 -s 352x240 -r NTSC (29.97) -g 12 -me epzs -qmin 2 -qmax 9 -acodec aac -ab 128 -ar 48000 -ac 2 -map 0.1:0.1 -benchmark /Volumes/Incoming_DV/HOLDS/Adult/ayana.mpg.ff.mov && printf "Encoding completed on " && date && printf "\a"'
It "dings" and says complete, but doesn't even make a file...?
System Specs: Dual G4 1ghz, Quicktime 6.52, OSX 10.3.9
will try a dump and reinstall to see if this will fix....
-
Major, a follow-up:
I used the procedure of COMPLETE UNINSTALL
as posted in your sticky on the main page, and then re-installed everything, including mpeg2enc.
I guess doing a COMPLETE UNINSTALL was what it needed.
It is now processing my MPEG-1 files fine now.
Thanks,
