Is there any program to edit text that is already embedded into a dvd video? I need to change some mistakes made in a wedding video. I don't know what program was used to make the original dvd and I only have a copy of the dvd. The text needed to be changed is like scroling credits. Thanks for any help.

is the text in the video and you can't disable it`? then you can't do much. easier to just remove the entire credit and make new part for it...see our tools list for video editing(advanced) tools.

Hate to say it sounds like you're out of luck. If the text were like a subtitle with it's own stream you could do something about it but with text that's already embedded in the video there's very little you can do.
There are probably some methods to do with but this would most likely be available to only professionals with very high-end dedicated video systems. On the other hand if you could do it on your own it would probably be so painstaking that it would not be worth it.
Once I had a piece of video where I transposed (read misspelled) a word and no longer had to the original files by the time I realized it. What I did was use VirtualDub to export that segment into a series of bmp files and then manually edited them in Photoshop, recombined, encoded and then added them back to the file. It was only a 6 seconds text but multiply that by 30 frames and I had to edit 180 frames (Thank goodness for batch processing!) You couldn''t really see the edit and I was pleased with the results but considering it was about 7 hours of work to get it to look good enough I decided to hang on to my files for at least a few months after a project was done afterwards -
So how would I know if the text is a subtitle with its own stream?
The text is rolling credits on top of pictures, so redoing the credits is not an option since I don't have those pictures to redo it with. -
Sounds as if it's part of the video......... fixing that can probably be acomplished fairly easy depending on your video editor and editing skills.
You could attempt covering up the original with slightly larger text, maybe with a solid background (or even a fancy wedding type one) just behind the new text so the original text is completely covered. You'd have to match the scoll speed of the origianl as well.
If you have proficient image editing skills and only need to fix a few lines you could match the old text with a new overlay and blend the new text in.
Anything you do to try and fix that will require some amount of skill. It's not impossible though.
In the end the easiest would be just cutting out the credits and creating new ones. You could always use your own similar pics and start from scratch.
