Encoding .avi files produced by FRAPS (PC)?

Howdy,

I've been given a bunch of avi files that were captured using the PC utility FRAPS: www.fraps.com but I'm unable to play them on the Mac.

When I try to convert the files using ffmpegX it reports errors (no surprise there). However, this is the error reported by ffmpegX when I attempt to convert the avi:

Cannot find codec matching selected -vo and video format 0x31535046.

I have Quicktime 7 and DivX 5.2.1 installed.

If anyone has suggestions or a solution (more convenient than "Buy a PC") it would be much appreciated.

ffmpegX 0.0.9t which is cooming soon, should be able to decode your file.

The update is much appreciated Major - but it seems that support for files created by fraps is still not working.

Unless I'm (hopefully) missing something that is.

Try to convert one to "ffmpeg DivX".

ah, I see the problem now:

[fraps @ 0x4199e0]This file is encoded with Fraps version 3. This codec can only decode version 0 and 1.
Error while decoding stream #0.0

We're using version 3... damn
