I have imported a picture into MPEG Video Wizard as well as a mp3 song. These are combined and outputed as mpg file, which is then imported into TMPG DVD Author as a background image. Under menu display settings I make sure that the box "Use audio of the background video as the menu BGM" is activated and then I output my dvd. NO SOUND when the dvd is played. The actual film on the dvd has its sound but not the background of the menu. What am I doing wrong?

I had this problem recently and it turned out that what I thought was a standard mp3 file was actually something else. Using a different mp3 file of the same music cured the problem.

  3. I like to add a still image with background music to my DVD's as well.

I wonder if perhaps you should you Beesweet to convert your mp3 to a mp2 audio file. Then match that up with your picture.

Mpeg Video Wizard is a really nice program. I am learning about making DVD's as well. This is a great website to learn how to improve ones techniques at making DVDs.

  4. MP3 is NOT a supported audio format for DVD. It is called "MPEG1 Layer 2", sometimes abbreviated "MP2". You will have to convert the audio to PCM, MP2, or Dolby AC-3 for DVD.
