Can someone tell me how to tell which video encoder my pc is using? I can't seem to find the answer to this in a search.

    Thanks,

The Video Encoder you're using is generally the program you're in when you're encoding.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    ...but perhaps you mean "decoder"?
I think Mediaplayer Classic can report what codecs in play when playing back video.

I'm using a Canopus advc300 to capture video into Vegas 4 + DVD as avi files. Then use Vegas to put all the captured files together as one move and produce an mpeg2 file which is then imported into DVD Architect Studio 2.0 to aurthor and burn. How do I know which encoder DVD Architect is using to encode the video. Or was that done when Vegas made the mpeg2 file, and if so how do I tell which encoder Vegas uses?

    Thanks,
    Lonn
