I'm having a problem with NeroVision Express 3.1.0.16 which I haven't encountered before. During the transcoding process of an .avi file, the coding freezes and the remaining time stops and the elapse time continues. I left it overnight and after 8hrs the transcoding never finishes. I've never had a problem making an .avi file into dvd format using NeroVision Express 3.1.0.16. Using GSPot it says the .avi is encoded in Div3 and i've heard that NeroVision Express 3 has problems with Div3, is that true?

Again, I've never had a problem making .avi's into DVD's. I'm guessing its the codec for the .avi file. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Perhaps the file is "broken"? Try scanning for errors w/ VirtualDub - load the file>>Video>>Scan Video stream for errors.

I scanned for errors using VirtualDub and no errors came up. What else could cause this particular .avi to freeze during the transcoding proccess?

try re/install the old divx3 codec.
or try something else like divxtodvd. nerovision express may not be useful for everything.

  5. Sounds like the same problem I have with NV Express occasionally, tho it didn't start with the ...16 version. The odd thing is that the program is not hung, just stops processing the file. I have not found any workarounds except using another DVD authoring program.

  6. this problem is easily fixed by finding the correct codec for the avi file. i've had this problem on several occasions, and getting the correct codec has fixed it everytime.
